Set-up (Scenery) doesn’t specialise in anything! But we can make whatever you want from whatever you want! We are experts in timber and steel and find that the combination creates a good balance between weight and strength. Most of our clients are from theatre, but our credits also include film, exhibition, conference, children’s climbing frames and garden structures.
We can do the standard stuff; 3” x 1” mortice and tenon flats, 2” x 1” on edge etc. Covered in serge, skin ply, canvas etc. As well as steel frames, staging units, revolves, traps etc. And scene-painted if you prefer. But what we really enjoy is the unusual; trucks, lifts, strange shapes, compound angles, touring sets.
We employ a core of 8 permanent staff and have a large team of freelancers – carpenters, joiners, welders, scenic artists, sculptors, fibreglassers, propmakers, wardrobe etc. to assist us.
